Muhammad or Jesus?

Muslims around the world believe that Muhammad and Jesus/ Issa were prophets of God. The Muslims however regard Muhammad as the greater prophet. My question to my Muslim friends is, if Muhammad was the greatest prophet, why was there no prophesy given of his coming? Not even one? The first coming of Jesus was  prophesied long beforehand by the prophets of God in the Holy Scriptures. There are more than 300 prophesies concerning the first coming of the Messiah Jesus i.e. Yahshuah which means "God is salvation". 300 prophesies that were fulfilled by the Messiah, and not one prophesy concerning the so called greatest prophet of them all, Muhammad? I find that very odd. If God or Allah as the Muslims call him gave us so much information in His Holy Book about Jesus, why not once did He give us any indications of the coming of Muhammad?
If we compare Jesus and Muhammad, we find that Jesus performed miracles, He healed the sick, made the blind see, He cast out demons, He raised the dead, He set the captives free, He rebuked nature, He forgave sins, something only God can do. To top it off, He died for the sinners by shedding His blood on the cross. He raised Himself from the dead and descended  to heaven, He overcame death and defeated death. He promised that those who would believe in Him would have their sins forgiven and have eternal life, being for eternity in heaven with Him. Did Muhammad, do any miracles at all, did he heal the sick, made the blind see? Did he raise the dead, was he able to forgive sins? When Muhammad died did he raise himself and descended to heaven? Jesus' tomb is empty, Muhammad's bones are still in his tomb in the Al-Masjid al-Nabawi (Mosque of the Prophet) in the city of Medina. Muhammad thought that he was demon possessed, Jesus cast out demons.  Jesus who was sinless taught His disciple and followers to, "love one another as I have loved you". He came as prophesied to die for the sin of the world. He who knew no sin became sin for us. He gave His life because God loved us so much that He gave His only begotten Son. Muhammad on the other hand conquered with the sword and killed those who would not convert to Islam. Muhammad did not teach love but hate. Many Muslims would say that their religion is a religion of peace, looking at the world and the history of Islam, I think it is quite the opposite. Jesus came to give us life and eternal peace. As Christians we know that we have eternal life through Christ, ask any Muslim if he or she will go to heaven, and they are not sure. They don't know if they are good enough. That to me is no security at all, the Bible or the word of God gives the Christians assurance of their salvation. Salvation is a gift of God by His grace through faith and faith alone. No one can be saved by doing works, by working themselves into heaven by somehow pleasing God and hopefully God will accept their good works. God clearly said: "They have all turned aside, They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one." Psalm 14:3. And in another place He said: "But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away." Isaiah 64:6
No one, no matter who can stand on his or her own righteousness, God regards our righteousness as filthy rags. Thanks be to God who imputed the righteousness of Christ onto the believers. Christians stand in the righteousness of Christ and not on their own. How glorious is that? My Muslim friend, consider Father Abraham, He believed God and it was accounted to him as righteousness as it is written in the good book: "And he believed in the LORD, and He accounted it to him for righteousness." Genesis 15:6.

The Apostle Paul addresses justification through faith in his epistle to the Romans:

"For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith." Romans 4:13.

"He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. And therefore "it was accounted to him for righteousness." Romans 4:20-22.

Paul goes on to say that it was not only imputed onto Abraham but to all that come by faith: "Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him, but also for us. It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification." Romans 4:23-25.

Believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior justifies the sinner before God, it is not what we have done, but what God has done for us in Jesus Christ. The blood of Jesus cleanses the sinner from all unrighteousness. King David knew this very well after his sin with Bathsheba: "Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit." Psalm 32:1, 2.

The blood of Jesus was so sufficient for the to the Father, He has forgotten every sin that was committed and He will not remember them. "For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear (reverence) Him; As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us." Psalm 103:11,12.

My Muslim friend do you have that kind of assurance from Allah and his prophet Muhammad in the Quran, can Muhammad give you forgiveness and eternal life, can he wash your sins away and cleanse you from all unrighteousness? If you are not sure that you will go to heaven, don't you think that that is pretty risky not knowing were you will end up? Consider Jesus/Issa and His words, He is the only one that can reconcile anyone to the Father. He is the only way to the Father, we must come through Him. I pray that you my Muslim friend would pick up the Bible the Holy scriptures of God and get to know Jesus, and why He came and why He will come again. Not knowing were you are going for eternity, either heaven or hell, does that not scare you? Read the word of God and you will find Him. He will reveal Himself to you because He loves you and does not want you to perish.

"Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6

  1. Some good points here I never thought of in the comparision b/n Jesus and Muhammad.
    - prophecy
    - miracles
    - no bones.

Very practical and theologically based. I will remember this! Thanks. wb

  4. Thanks Anonymous for your comment. I watched the videos.Muhammad may have had some nice sayings, so did Buddha and others. My article discusses the deity of Christ verses Muhammad who was a mere human. Jesus/Yashuah/Issa is God in the flesh, He came to dwell among us, He died for our sins, He rose from the dead on the third day. He ascended to heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father. The Bible prophesied of Him throughout the scriptures, and I disagree with Muhammad being mentioned anywhere in the Holy scriptures. Muhammad can not save, Muhammad did not die for our sins, Muhammad was not God in the flesh (2nd person of the holy trinity). You may believe what the quran teaches, but the quran came six hundred years after the New Testament. Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation and that through faith. You may not accept that right now, but one day every knee shall bow and confess Jesus Christ as Lord.

  5. Thanks for taking the time to watch those videos but the thing is all religions claim to be the right and the only way to salvation and that there god is the only true god. Muhammad was a prophet after Jesus (PBUH)he came from the bloodline of Abraham and he came with the same message as Jesus and he did come as a mercy to mankind. If both Jesus and Muhammad ruled the world today there's no doubt it would be a much better place. That cant be denied.

  6. Thanks Anonymous. Jesus is more than a prophet, He is God in the flesh as prophesied long before in the Holy Scriptures. Muhammad did not have the same message as Jesus and Christians don't accept him as a prophet of God. True biblical Christianity is not a religion, it is a personal relationship with God. All religions can not be right, they can all be wrong, but they cannot be all right. The problem with all religions is that man is trying to reach God. In Christianity God reaches down to man. Salvation is by grace through faith and that is a gift of God. Now if you think that Jesus was only a prophet as you think Muhammad was, should you not use Deuteronomy 18 and test the prophet? Jesus fulfilled over 300 prophesies upon His first coming. How many prophesies did Muhammad fulfill? Jesus is in every book of the Old Testament,His coming as Messiah was predicted and fulfilled. If Muhammad was equal with Jesus, how come he did not perform any miracles, healed the sick and raised the dead? If Muhammad was equal to Jesus why was there no prophesies given about his coming? If Muhammad was equal to Jesus why is he dead while Jesus lives? If Jesus was equal to Muhammad, why do you not listen to Jesus? It was Jesus that said: "I am the way the truth and the life, no one shall come to the Father but through me." John 14:6 If Jesus said this and you deny this, was Jesus a liar and false prophet? I tell you the truth, I rather believe God and the Bible than the Koran which came 6 centuries after Issa. The Bible is the true written word of God to mankind, and salvation and forgiveness is only through Jesus Christ. No worries Jesus Christ will return to the earth, this time not as a suffering servant but as a Lion, the Lion from the tribe Judah. He will come in judgment and He will rule from Jerusalem. He will rule the world in righteousness. Muhammad will still be in the tomb.

If you look at both the Bible and the Quran you will find logically the Quran is more truthful with no contradictions you will not find one mistake in the Quran whereas in the Bible there is many such as: EXO 15:3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name. ROM 15:33 Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen. MAT 1:16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.LUK 3:23 And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli.PRO 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.ECC 1:18 for in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.1CO 1:19: "For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent." There’s many more. Nothing about the Trinity came from Jesus mouth and he also said this: JOH 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than John 17:3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. “But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers. Also why did Jesus pray if he was God or part God. It also shockingly states in the Bible that the Devil carried Jesus from place to place God is above all he can not be carried by none. The Devil in the Bible also tells Jesus to worship prostrate before him how dare and how stupid for the Devil to even think about asking God to do such a thing. The truth is Jesus was a savior and a messiah that is no doubt but he cannot be god for it is stated in the Bible: God CANNOT be seen: "No man hath seen God at any time." (JOH 1:18) "And he said, Thou canst not see my face; for there shall no man see me and live." (EXO 33:20) "Whom no man hath seen nor can see." (1TIM 6:16)He was Prophet Son of Mary and he will be coming in the end times to solve the world’s problems and bring people to the one and only true god. Also Muhammad did do miracles and heal people: The Traditions mentioned below are all from Sahih al-Bukhari, the most authentic collection. Splitting of the Moon Supplication for Rain The Prophet's Night Journey to Jerusalem and Ascent to the Heavenshealing of ill and wounded people The Prophet’s protection as a miracle

  11. Thank you Anonymous, I can not discuss all the issues you raised from the blog. The contradictions you showed are not contradictions and at all and can be resolved with comparing scripture with scripture and studying the Bible without a preconceived mind. There are many contradictions however in the Quran. Don't be offended, but I do not pay much credence to the Koran, it is not a divinely inspired book like the Holy Bible, the Quran was written by men, not even by Muhammed who was illiterate. They Quran are collected sayings of Muhammad and were made into a book after his death. I am certainly not an expert on the Quran, but we will get nowhere going back and forth on the issues. Thanks Freddie I’m not offended, you have a right to speak freely in what you believe, I hope you were not offended by my comments I am not trying to cause ill feeling, but like yourself I feel my religion is the true one and I try to bring others to it. Maybe your right about the versus not being contradictions but they do seem a bit strange to me so maybe I have to study the Bible more carefully next time. I have watched the video it’s all explainable, many things I noticed while watching have been cleared up with good Islamic scholars before and now, it’s nothing new to us, please note there are many videos about biblical mistakes and errors. People are right to say that the Qur’an was written before the Bible but that doesn’t disprove the Qur’an, wasn’t the Torah written before the Bible? The Qur’an we believe was not written by men but reveled to Muhammad who was illiterate through the angel Gabriel, The Bible was written by Paul and John and others no one claims it was written by Jesus himself. I am sorry I cannot explain at least some of the things said on that video it would be hard to put so much data on this blog.

  15. Thank you Ramon, respectfully I have to say that the book and the article you promote is a bunch of nonsense and not biblical at all. Yeshuah came to die, He came to redeem mankind from the wrath of God and from sin. He came so that those who would believe would not perish but have everlasting life. He knew from before the foundation of the world that He would do this, it was for ordained by God the Father. Christ willingly gave His life as a ransom for all. Christ was crucified as it was prophesied in Psalm 22.If I may say to you, read the Bible, which by the way has no contradictions, and you will find the truth, the truth of God and not of Men.

  17. Thank you Ramon for your humble response. As a biblical Christian, I believe that the Bible is the infallible word of God. The Bible is divinely inspired and God breathed. I do admit that some original words could have been translated better, but as it is the English translation is very good. There are over 40.000 manuscripts of the Bible, more that any other writing in antiquities. There are virtually no significant changes in the text that would lead someone to doubt it's accuracy. Besides the translations, we have the Hebrew and the Greek for a deeper word study and deeper understanding of certain passages. Why do I believe that the manuscripts are reliable? The oldest copies or manuscripts of the book of Isaiah that we had were from the 8th century AD. When the dead sea scrolls were discovered, a complete manuscript of Isaiah was found which predates the one we had by over 1100 years. The text was virtually the same, with no significant changes. I know that there are many writings outside biblical sources, and some of them are good for historic purposes, but they are not divinely inspired as the Bible and I am always cautious about their accuracy and truth. They are writings of men, and men are prone to write with an agenda to fit their purposes.
Your site the Hub has many questionable objection in my opinion. The important issue is that Christ died and rose from the dead. Christianity depends on the resurrection, if Christ did not rise, than we are still in our sins. Also the death and resurrection proved that the sacrificial death of Christ was sufficient for the Father. We that believe this, have now peace with God the Father through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

  19. Hey Freddie! I'm a muslim and i just wanna say thanks for giving respect to my religion. You really don't find a lot of people who do that. First and foremost, their isn't a scripture or any prophecy that had to do with hthe prophet because over the years the biblehas been re-written. It still is today. In the quran christians have been led astray because of that, confusing yourselves that Jesus, a prophet, is god and is human. The jews were stubborn and completely took out the prophecies of muhammad. They were the ones who found Allah's wrath. Another thing is, Islam is peaceful, its just the countries in the middle east who use islam as a law within the countries, show violence and terror. They're out of hand. If you were of a different unorganized race, you would understand. No offense, but the people who terrorize us are idiots. They're muslims, but they act like idiots. Allah doesn't care about who does wrong, he wants you to know the right path by reading the quran. Many people don't. Those people give us a bad name, but if you read the holy book its self, very powerful. You can relax and know its the truth. And smile. I'm only fourteen and i'm looking stuff for a project so....you really don't have to take my advice. It wouldn't hurt to try though. Bye Freddie!0

  22. Muhammad showed many miracle.. he split the moon into two parts.. he went to the heaven which is known as Miraj. In the field of battle he was helped by the angels.. and Muhammad (pbuh) prophesied in the bible itself..
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in the Old Testament:
The Qur’an mentions in Surah Al-Araf chapter 7 verse 157:
"Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own (scriptures) in the law and the Gospel".

1.MUHAMMAD (PBUH) PROPHESISED IN THE BOOK OF DEUTERONOMY:
Almighty God speaks to Moses in Book of Deuteronomy chapter 18 verse 18:
"I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and I will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him."
The Christians say that this prophecy refers to Jesus (pbuh) because Jesus (pbuh) was like Moses (pbuh). Moses (pbuh) was a Jew, as well as Jesus (pbuh) was a Jew. Moses (pbuh) was a Prophet and Jesus (pbuh) was also a Prophet.
If these two are the only criteria for this prophecy to be fulfilled, then all the Prophets of the Bible who came after
Moses (pbuh) such as Solomon, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Malachi, John the Baptist, etc. (pbut) will
fulfill this prophecy since all were Jews as well as prophets.
However, it is Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) who is like Moses (pbuh):
i)Both had a father and a mother, while Jesus (pbuh) was born miraculously without any male intervention.
    [Mathew 1:18 and Luke 1:35 and also Al-Qur'an 3:42-47]
ii)Both were married and had children. Jesus (pbuh) according to the Bible did not marry nor had children.
iii)Both died natural deaths. Jesus (pbuh) has been raised up alive. (4:157-158)
Muhammad (pbuh) is from among the brethren of Moses (pbuh). Arabs are brethren of Jews. Abraham (pbuh) had two sons: Ishmail and Isaac (pbut). The Arabs are the descendants of Ishmail (pbuh) and the Jews are the descendants of Isaac (pbuh).
    Words in the mouth:
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was unlettered and whatever revelations he received from Almighty God he repeated them verbatim.
"I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him."
    [Deuteronomy 18:18]
iv)Both besides being Prophets were also kings i.e. they could inflict capital punishment. Jesus (pbuh) said, "My kingdom is not of this world." (John 18:36).
v)Both were accepted as Prophets by their people in their lifetime but Jesus (pbuh) was rejected by his
people. John chapter 1 verse 11 states, "He came unto his own, but his own received him not."
iv)Both brought new laws and new regulations for their people. Jesus (pbuh) according to the Bible did not bring any new laws. (Mathew 5:17-18).
2.It is Mentioned in the book of Deuteronomy chapter 18:19
"And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not harken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him."

    ReplyDelete
  23. 3.Muhammad (pbuh) is prophesised in the book of Isaiah:
It is mentioned in the book of Isaiah chapter 29 verse 12:
"And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned."
When Archangel Gabrail commanded Muhammad (pbuh) by saying Iqra - "Read", he replied, "I am not learned".
4.prophet Muhammad (pbuh) mentioned by name in the old testament:
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is mentioned by name in the Song of Solomon chapter 5 verse 16:
"Hikko Mamittakim we kullo Muhammadim Zehdoodeh wa Zehraee Bayna Jerusalem."
"His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters
    of Jerusalem."
In the Hebrew language im is added for respect. Similarely im is added after the name of Prophet Muhammad
(pbuh) to make it Muhammadim. In English translation they have even translated the name of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as "altogether lovely", but in the Old Testament in Hebrew, the name of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is yet present.

  24. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in the New Testament:

    Al-Qur'an Chapter 61 Verse 6:

"And remember, Jesus, the son of Mary, said, 'O Children of Israel! I am the messenger of Allah (sent) to you, confirming the Law (which came) before me and giving glad tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmed.' But when he came to them with clear signs, they said, 'This is evident sorcery!' "

All the prophecies mentioned in the Old Testament regarding Muhammad (pbuh) besides applying to the Jews also hold good for the Christians.

    1.
    John chapter 14 verse 16:
"And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever."

    2.
Gospel of John chapter 15 verse 26:

"But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which
proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me."

    3.
Gospel of John chapter 16 verse 7:

"Nevertheless I tell you the truth; it is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not
come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you".

"Ahmed" or "Muhammad" meaning "the one who praises" or "the praised one" is almost the translation of the
Greek word Periclytos. In the Gospel of John 14:16, 15:26, and 16:7. The word 'Comforter' is used in the English translation for the Greek word Paracletos which means advocate or a kind friend rather than a comforter.
Paracletos is the warped reading for Periclytos. Jesus (pbuh) actually prophesised Ahmed by name. Even the
Greek word Paraclete refers to the Prophet (pbuh) who is a mercy for all creatures.

Some Christians say that the Comforter mentioned in these prophecies refers to the Holy Sprit. They fail to realise
that the prophecy clearly says that only if Jesus (pbuh) departs will the Comforter come. The Bible states that the
Holy Spirit was already present on earth before and during the time of Jesus (pbuh), in the womb of Elizabeth, and again when Jesus (pbuh) was being baptised, etc. Hence this prophecy refers to none other than Prophet
    Muhammad (pbuh).

    4.
Gospel of John chapter 16 verse 12-14:

"I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth is
come, he will guide you unto all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me".

The Sprit of Truth, spoken about in this prophecy referes to none other than Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

All quotations of the Bible are taken from the King James Version.

  25. Muhammad’s great miracles were witnessed by thousands of believers and skeptics, following which verses of the Quran were revealed mentioning the supernatural events. The Quran made some miracles eternal by etching them in the conscious of the believers. The ancient detractors would simply remain silent when these verses were recited. Had these miracles not taken place, they would have seized the moment to scandalize it and belie Muhammad. But rather, the opposite took place. The believers grew more certain of the truth of Muhammad and the Quran. The fact that the faithful grew stronger in their faith and the silence of the unbelievers and not denying their occurrence is acknowledgment from both that the miracles took place exactly as the Quran describes.

In this section we will discuss some of the physical miracles performed by Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him.

    Miracles are from Divine Power

A miracle one of the factors which further strengthens the claim of a prophet of God Miracles should not be the soul essence of belief, as supernatural events can also take place by the use of magic and devils. The truth of prophethood is clear and evident in the actual message brought, as God has instilled a capability, although limited, in humans to recognize the truth as it is, specifically in the matter of monotheism But in order to further strengthen the argument of Prophethood, God performed miracles at the hands of His Prophets from Moses, Jesus to Muhammad. For this reason, God did not produce miracles upon the demand of the Meccans, but the Wise God gave Muhammad the miracles He desired at the time He choose:

“And they say, ‘We will not believe you until you break open for us from the ground a spring, or [until] you have a garden of date-palms and grapes and make rivers gush forth within them in force [and abundance] or you make the heaven fall upon us in fragments as you have claimed or you bring God and the angels before [us] or you have a house of ornament [gold] or you ascend into the sky. And [even then], we will not believe in your ascension until you bring down to us a book we may read.’ ‘Say, Exalted is my Lord! Was I ever but a human messenger?’’’ (Quran 17:90-93)

    The answer was:

“And nothing has prevented Us from sending [this message, like the earlier ones,] with miraculous signs [in its wake], save [Our knowledge] that the people of olden times [only too often] gave the lie to them: thus, We provided for [the tribe of] Thamud the she-camel as a visible sign, but they wronged her. And never did We send those signs for any other purpose than to convey a warning.” (Quran 17:59)

When demanded ostensibly, God in His wisdom knew they would not believe, so He refused to show them miracles:

“Now they swear by God with their most solemn oaths that if a miracle were shown to them, they would indeed believe in this [divine writ]. Say: ‘Miracles are in the power of God alone.’ ‘And for all you know, even if one should be shown to them, they would not believe so long as We keep their hearts and their eyes turned [away from the truth], even as they did not believe in it in the first instance: and [so] We shall leave them in their overweening arrogance, blindly stumbling to and fro.’” (Quran 6:109-110)

  26. Splitting of the Moon
One of the times when God performed miracles at the hand of the Prophet was when the Meccans demanded to see a miracle from Muhammad to show his truthfulness. God split the moon in two separate halves and then re-joined them. The Quran recorded the event:
“The Last Hour draws near, and the moon is split asunder!” (Quran 54:1)
Prophet Muhammad would recite these verses of the Quran in large congregations of the weekly Friday prayer and the bi-annual Eed prayers.[1] Had the event never occurred, Muslims themselves would have doubted their religion and many would have left it! The Meccans would have said, ‘Hey, your prophet is a liar, the moon never split, and we never saw it split!’ Instead, the believers grew stronger in their faith and the only explanation the Meccans could come up with was, ‘passing magic!’
“The Last Hour draws near, and the moon is split asunder! And if they see a sign (miracle), they turn away and say, ‘Passing magic!’- for they are bent on giving it the lie, being always wont to follow their own desires.” (Quran 54:1-3)
The splitting of the moon is confirmed through eye-witness testimony transmitted through an unbroken chain of reliable scholars so many that is it impossible that it could be false (hadith mutawatir p. 215)
A skeptic might ask, do we have any independent historical evidence to suggest the moon was ever split? After all, people around the world should have seen this marvelous event and recorded it.

  27. The answer to this question is twofold.
First, people around the world could not have seen it as it would have been daytime, late night, or early morning many parts of the world. The following table will give the reader some idea of corresponding world times to 9:00 pm Mecca time:
    Country Time
    Mecca 9:00 pm
    India 11:30 pm
    Perth 2:00 am
    Reykjavik 6:00 pm
    Washington D.C. 2:00 pm
    Rio de Janeiro 3:00 pm
    Tokyo 3:00 am
    Beijing 2:00 am
Also, it is not likely that a large number of people in lands close by would be observing the moon at the exact same time. They had no reason to. Even if some one did, it does not necessarily mean people believed him and kept a written record of it, especially when many civilizations at that time did not preserve their own history in writing.
Second, we actually have an independent, and quite amazing, historical corroboration of the event from an Indian king of that time.
Kerala is a state of India. The state stretches for 360 miles (580 kilometers) along the Malabar Coast on the southwestern side of the Indian peninsula.[“Kerala.” Encyclopædia Britannica from Encyclopædia Britannica Premium Service. (http://www.britannica.com/eb/article-9111226)] King Chakrawati Farmas of Malabar was a Chera king, Cheraman perumal of Kodungallure. He is recorded to have seen the moon split. The incident is documented in a manuscript kept at the India Office Library, London, reference number: Arabic, 2807, 152-173. A group of Muslim merchant’s passing by Malabar on their way to China spoke to the king about how God had supported the Arabian prophet with the miracle of splitting of the moon. The shocked king said he had seen it with his own eyes as well, deputized his son, and left for Arabia to meet the Prophet in person. The Malabari king met the Prophet, bore the two testimonies of faith, learned the basics of faith, but passed away on his way back and was buried in the port city of Zafar, Yemen.[ Encyclopædia Britannica from Encyclopædia Britannica Premium Service. (http://www.britannica.com/eb/article-9078191)]
It is said that the contingent was led by a Muslim, Malik bin Dinar, and continued to Kodungallure, the Chera capital, and built the first, and India’s oldest, mosque in the area in 629 CE which exists today.
A pre-renovation picture of the Cheraman Juma Masjid, India’s oldest mosque dating back to 629 CE.
The news of his accepting Islam reached Kerala where people accepted Islam. The people of Lakshadweep and the Moplas (Mapillais) from the Calicut province of Kerala are converts from those days.
Cheraman Juma Masjid, named after India’s first Muslim convert, Cheraman perumal Chakrawati Farmas, after renovation.
The Indian sighting and the meeting of the Indian king with Prophet Muhammad is also reported by Muslim sources. The famous Muslim historian, Ibn Kahtir, mentions the splitting of the moon was reported in parts of India.[‘Al-Bidaya wal-Nihaya,’ by Ibn Kathir, vol 3, p. 130] Also, the books of hadith have documented the arrival of the Indian king and his meeting the Prophet. Abu Sa’id al-Khudri, a companion of Prophet Muhammad, states:
“The Indian king gifted the Prophet with a jar of ginger. The companions ate it piece by piece. I took a bite as well.”[Reported by Hakim in ‘Mustadrik’ vol 4, p. 150. Hakim comments, ‘I have not memorized any other report stating the Prophet ate ginger.’]
The king was thus considered a ‘companion’ – a term used for a person who met the Prophet and died as a Muslim – his name registered in the mega-compendiums chronicling the Prophet’s companions.[Al-Isaba’ by Ibn Hajr, vol 3. p. 279 and ‘Lisan ul-Mizan’ by Imam al-Dhahabi, vol. 3 p. 10 under the name ‘Sarbanak,’ the name with which the Arabs knew him.]

  28. Night Journey and Ascent to Heaven (MIRAZ)
A few months before the migration from Mecca to Medina, God took Muhammad in one night from the Grand Mosque in Mecca to al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, a month’s journey of 1230 Km for a caravan. From Jerusalem, he ascended to the heavens, passing the boundaries of the physical universe to be in divine presence, meet God, and witness the Great Signs (al-Ayat ul-Kubra). His truth became apparent in two ways. First, ‘the Prophet described the caravans he had overtaken on the way home and said where they were and about when they might be expected to arrive in Mecca; and each arrived as predicted, and the details were as he had described.’ Second, he was never known to have been to Jerusalem, yet he described al-Aqsa Mosque to skeptics like an eye-witness.
The mystical journey is mentioned in the Quran:
“Exalted is He who took His Servant [Prophet Muhammad] by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing.” (Quran 17:1)
“So will you dispute with him over what he saw? And he certainly saw him in another descent at the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary – near it is the Garden of Refuge (Paradise) – when there covered the Lote Tree that which covered (it). The sight (of the Prophet) did not swerve, nor did it transgress (its limit). He certainly saw of the greatest signs of his Lord.” (Quran 53:12-18)
The event is also confirmed through eye-witness testimony transmitted through the ages with an unbroken chain of reliable scholars (hadith mutawatirNadhm al-Mutanathira min al-Hadith al-Mutawatir,’ by al-Kattani p. 207.]

  29. The Tree Trunk

In Medina Muhammad used to deliver sermons leaning on a tree stump. When the number of worshippers increased, someone suggested a pulpit be built so he can use it to deliver the sermon. When the pulpit was built, he abandoned the tree trunk. Abdullah ibn Umar, one of the companions, gave an eye-witness testimony of what happened. The trunk was heard weeping, the Prophet of Mercy went towards it and comforted it with his hand.[Saheeh Al-Bukhari]
The event is also confirmed through eye-witness testimony transmitted through the ages with an unbroken chain of reliable scholars (hadith mutawatir -More than ten companions of the Prophet transmitted the reports on their hearing the weeping of the tree trunk. See the works of hadith masters: ‘Azhar al-Mutanathira fi al-Ahadith al-Mutawatira’ by al-Suyuti p. 267, ‘Nadhm al-Mutanathira min al-Hadith al-Mutawatir,’ by al-Kattani p. 209 and ‘Shamail’ of Ibn Kathir p. 239).

  30. The Flowing of Water

On more than one occasion when people were in dire need of water, the blessing of the Muhammad saved them. In the sixth year after the he migrated from Mecca to Medina, Muhammad went to Mecca for pilgrimage. In the long journey through the desert, people ran out of all water, only the Prophet was left with a vessel with which he performed ablution for prayers. He put his hand in vessel, water began flowing from between his fingers. Jabir bin Abdullah, who witnessed the miracle, says of the fifteen hundred men, ‘We drank it and made ablution.’[Saheeh Al-Bukhari.] This miracle has been transmitted with an unbroken chain of reliable scholars (hadith mutawatir).[] More than ten companions of the Prophet transmitted the reports on their hearing the weeping of the tree trunk. See ‘Nadhm al-Mutanathira min al-Hadith al-Mutawatir,’ by al-Kattani p. 212, ‘al-Shifa’ by Qadhi Iyyad, vol 1, p. 405, and ‘al-’Ilaam’ by al-Qurtubi, p. 352.]

The sprouting of water from human fingers is similar to the Moses’ miracle of producing water from a rock.

  31. Blessing of Food

On more than one occasion, the Prophet blessed food by either praying or touching it so all present could get their fill. This happened at times when food and water shortage afflicted Muslims.[Saheeh Al-Bukhari. See ‘Nadhm al-Mutanathira min al-Hadith al-Mutawatir,’ by al-Kattani p. 213 and ‘al-Shifa’ by Qadhi Iyyad, vol 1, p. 419]
These miracles took place in the presence of a large number of people and is, thus, not possible to deny.

    Healing the Sick

Abdullah ibn Ateek broke his leg and Muhammad healed it by wiping his hand over it. Abdullah said it was as if nothing had happened to it! The person who witnessed the miracle was another companion, Bara’ ibn Azib (Saheeh Al-Bukhari)

During the expedition of Khyber, Muhammad healed the painful eyes of Ali ibn Abi Talib in front of a whole army. Ali, many years later, became the fourth caliph of Muslims.[Saheeh Al-Bukhari, Saheeh Muslim]

  32. Exorcising Devils

Muhammad exorcised the devil out of a boy brought by his mother for healing to him by saying, ‘Come out! I am Muhammad, the Messenger of God!’ The woman said, ‘By the One who sent you with the truth, we have never seen anything wrong with him since.’(Musnad of Imam Ahmad, and Sharh’ al-Sunnah)

  33. Thanks for all your comments, the Qur'an in my opinion is not divinely inspired and is not the word of God. The Qur'an came 600 years after the NT was written and over 2000 years after the OT or Hebrew scriptures. The Qur'an is a collection of sayings by Muhammad, he himself thought that he was demon possessed, his wife told him that it is God speaking to him. I believe that the quran is not the word of God and that salvation can only come through the Jews as Jesus stated. Issa was the promised Messiah, prophesied many hundreds of years before He became one of us. He died for our sins and He said "It is finished". Nothing else was needed, He took our punishment that we deserved upon Him, so that we may have eternal life with Him. All that believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior are saved from the wrath of God on the day of judgment, either when they die or the wrath of God when it comes upon the earth. Muhammad was only a man, Jesus is God. Muhammad did not die for our sins and rose from the dead, Jesus did. He will return and set up His kingdom here on earth, ruling from Jerusalem, the city of David.
